Academic Support to Students at FDA

The mission of the Fort Dale Deer Hunt, as a nonprofit fund-raising entity is to utilize local natural resources and volunteer services to host an annual hunting event, in an effort to promote funding from sources outside of Fort Dale Academy families for the express purpose of enhancing and expanding the academic endeavors of the school.

In the past two years alone, the FDA Deer Hunt has provided over $115,000 in academic support to Fort Dale Academy.  Those investments include:    

• Smart Boards for classrooms
• New computers for the school computer lab
• Laptops for new teachers
• Updated curriculum for 4th, 5th, and 6th grades

In addition to classroom support, the Deer Hunt offers scholarships to high school students who complete dual enrollment courses at LBW Community College, Auburn University, the University of Alabama, Troy University, or others.  To date, the Hunt has funded approximately $100,000 in college tuition for Fort Dale students, saving families thousands of dollars.
